Report of Webmaster: Tom Quina asks that the club keep the Yahoo Group for club business only.  High-resolution, low quality pictures are causing tech problems with the site.  Please contact Tom directly if you have any issues with the site and how to better use it.

New Business: Dick Cantner, Treasurer asked permission the move the Bank account from Indian River National Bank to Marine Bank.  In keeping with the Clubs goal to support member firms and as Georgia Irish VP of Marine Bank will oversee our account and provide us the best possible service.

As follows:  Any General Member, Associate Member, or Honorary Member shall not use the Club insignia (Logo) or official name in any capacity, as to represent an official club message, announcement, notification, etc. without the written permission of the board of directors.  Anyone continuing any misrepresentation shall be deemed guilty of By Laws Article XI, paragraphs E and F and Article III, Paragraph E, Sub-Paragraph 3 & 4, and will be subject to Article III, Paragraph D.

Announcements:
Dan Bryant and Beth gave an outline of this years activities and will get more in depth at the General Membership meeting.

Annual Club Christmas Party will be chaired by Ro Bryant with help from Connie Baudo. Site will be Panther Woods Country Club. Date TBD.

Bill Ulisky has agreed to do the 50/50 at all meeting this year.

As we start the New Year it should be noted that no officers should have to address comments made by e-mail.  Also per Our By Laws our Club Logo should only be used for club business.  We need to protect our Club's good name and reputation at all times.  Our main goal for the year is to make sure we are the “Friendliest Club” in Florida. 

1st  Mystery Dinner Cruise will be in January and will be hosted by Dan and Ro.

1st  Meeting of New Year is Friday 1/11/08 at Best Western Copper Top.

Report of Officers: President Frank thanked everyone for attending and outlined his goals for the Club in 2008.  Purpose of the Club is Social and this year all members are encouraged to get to know each other and work and play together.

Treasurer: Dick Cantner was operated on again and will miss several meetings during his recovery.  Ro Bryant delivered the Treasures report.

Report of Standing Committees: Habitat Committee Dan Bryant reported that the Wednesday group continues to work on the Service Chevrolet House and that working with Habitat is a great way to show our community spirit.  Bob Irish volunteered to start a Saturday work group with Dan’s Help. Jim and Judy Gallaher echoed Dan’s sentiment about the benefits of working with Habitat. Habitat calendar showing Pres Frank and Hank at the dedication was passed around for all to see.

Report of Activities Committee: Dan, Beth, Georgia and Pat reported as follows:

Jan 19th Family Fun at the Fells mere Frog Legs Festival and Rodeo. Meet at the Mobil Station on 60 and I95 at 11:00AM to caravan out.  Trying to get special parking for the cars.

Jan Mystery Dinner as scheduled. Dan and Ro are hosts.

Feb 23,2008 Lunch at Longhorn Steak House in Palm Bay and then the Andretti Experience in Melbourne followed by Music and comradeship in Melbourne.  Meet at 11:00AM

March 29,2008 Antique Auto Show under the Oaks. Karl is trying to get special place for Vettes in the shade.  We will have a Bar B Que in the park afterwards provided by the club  at the Gazebo. This is the largest show in the area and a special opportunity for our club.

April 19,2008 Stuart Boat ride Cost $23.50 +tax  per person. An afternoon of fun.

May Wayne’s Garage dedication TBD.

June St Augustine Trip.

New Business: President Frank introduced new members Tony and Terri Shalala (Newly Weds) from NY. They drive a Yellow Convertible.

Georgia and Bobby introduced their guest Dana Brown who hopes to join the club. Her husband and daughter will be in the Fellsmere Rodeo.

Jim Gallagher invited everyone to participate in the Sebastian Museum festivities on Feb 2, 2008 in Sebastian. Antique cars and a lot of Old Florida history on display. Food and fun for all.

Karl Steene mentioned the Party Dolls will be at Heritage Center for the Character Counts Costume party. Check with him for details.

Oslo Dinner on Oslo Road and 27th.  Bobby Irish starting a Sat Crew also.

Report of Officers:

Officer at Large Ro Bryant: Submitted bills to treasurer for payment of previously approved expenses in the amount of $481.00.  (Keepsake gift for life members, Christmas Party deposits, and memorial donation for Past President)

Webmaster, Tom Quina:  Yahoo E-Group is to be used for general brief announcements for all members, (Shout Outs, etc.), as long as announcements are for our club or the interest of the members of our club.

VP Tom LaRocca:  Southern Embroidery wants a $75.00 set up for the C6 Convertible logo.  Tom Quina said Southern Embroidery has all the logos, including the C6 Convertible.    Dick Cantner suggested we investigate the service with “Embroidery Me” at Ryanwood.  Consensus was each member could use the logo appropriate to his or her car and color.

Old Business: Thank you card from John Muldoons family    Thanks from Italian American Club for the cars in attendance last weekend.

New Business: See attached statement Re: charity and donations. IRCC is a social organization and being such is not able to provide funds to other organizations as a unit. Individual’s members are encouraged to be active in our community.

Policy for…. The Indian River Corvette Club. 

From time to time local clubs and organizations as well as charitable groups will solicit money for some good cause or attendance at some event by the IRCC.

As much as we individuals support these bona fide groups; as a club we are not structured either financially or by our organizational structure to participate in these activities.

The IRCC is not an income producing organization; as such all monies collected are applied to our minimal overheads and or expenses incurred for maintaining our club.

(NOTE:  Please refer to the treasurer’s monthly report for more details re. expenses)

Further to this issue, as a policy, we do not participate in showing/displaying our Corvettes in support of local business and or related special interest groups. By doing so we remain unbiased to any/all such organizations as bona fide as they may be. 

All that being said, any individual or group of individuals (members) may elect to participate in any function or charity as they so choose however independent of  IRCC sanctioning.

We respect and appreciate our members’ interest with the above and thank you all for your cooperation and understanding.

Report of Officers: President Frank Baudo welcomed Tatiana Dwyer the new owner of Service Chevrolet and thanked her for their continuing support of the Club. She reported that the new name will be Dwyer Chevrolet and asked that the Corvette Club participate in the Grand Opening Ceremonies in June 08.

Report of Standing Committees: Activities Beth Butcher reported on planned activities for May and June. Discussion was held re: July and it was agreed that the Meeting and Mystery Dinner Cruise will comprise our July activities.

Report of Newsletter Committee: Hollyann welcomes articles from members for the Newsletter

Club Sponsor Tatiana Dwyer and her husband Will have purchased Service and will be changing the name.  They are moving from Ohio and look forward to being part of Vero Beach and the Club.

Old Business: Members brought up the continuing issue of a disgruntled member whose conduct is detrimental to the Club.  In accordance with our bylaws the board will send a letter to that member and seek to resolve the controversy.  Motion for this carried unanimously.

New Business: Dick Cantner reported that he had spoken with the owner of Embrodme about the cost of the Logo’s.  He had charged $50.00 set up fee to Hollyann Quina for the logos and then $15.00 per logo and name. His work is excellent but his pricing is high. Tom LaRocca used the service and paid $8.95 for a logo on a shirt more inline with Southern’s pricing.  Pat Lundell made a motion to reimburse Hollyann for the $50.00 set up charge since now all members can us the service. Tom LaRocca seconded it and it was approved unanimously.  Dick will continue to work with the owner to try to reduce his cost.

The Meeting format at General Membership meetings is social and informative. Members with any business related issues should attend the Board Meeting’s and resolve them there. All members are welcome at any Board Meeting.

Report of Officers: Frank Baudo was called away to aid his ailing Mother.  Tom LaRocca VP asked all in attendance to offer a silent prayer for Frank's Mom.  Curt from Culinary Capers did a wonderful job decorating the tables and providing a super buffet for all.

Report of Standing Committees:  Activities Beth Butcher ,Steve and Judy Overly will host the June Mystery Dinner Cruise, July no club activities are planned. Use Shout Out for events.  July 19th Ecklers' Casino Cruise from the Cape.

Report of Newsletter Committee: Hollyann asked for articles to publish. Include local activities Club Members are involved in.

Webmaster  Tom reminded everyone of the 24 Hours of Lemans on TV Sat and Sunday.

Club Sponsor :Will was in attendance and asked as a many as possible Club Members to come to the Corvette Corral at their Grand Opening on Sat. They will provide special areas for the cars and lunch. Make sure you introduce yourself when you’re at the Dealership as they want to know all our members. They will continue the 10% Discount Card for all Club Members.  They appreciate our patronage.

New Business:. Karl Steene informed those in attendance of the upcoming local events; Sept 20,2008 Porsche and Ferrari’s on display at the RBC lot on US1. Corvettes welcome.  Nov 17,2008 Legendary Cars display on Ocean Drive. Last Sunday in March Antique Cars Under the Oaks.

Curt let the members know about the Wine Pairing Dinners he will be hosting at the Boardroom in June and July.  $25.00 per person.  Let’s support this.  Dick Cantner acknowledged Curt’s great job with our event.

Report of Officers: Frank thanked everyone in the Club for the support shown Frank’s family at the passing of his mother Angela Baudo.  The Clubs flowers were great.  We want to continue to grow our Club into the best we can be.

Tom LaRocca reported that he would be looking for more opportunities in our community for Civic involment by the Club.  He felt we have a lot to offer and we should extend our reach into the community.  He thanked all for their Habitat efforts as a fine example of our community involvement.  Both Frank and Tom want increased communications and Comrade to be hallmarks of our club.  

Officer at Large Ro Bryant was thanked by Frank for her exceptional work on the Sunshine Committee

Report of Standing Committees: Beth and Dan are working on the schedule of activities for the fall and will report at the General Membership meeting.  Frank handed out some ideas on possible activities.

Newsletter Committee:  Connie are going to work on profiles of the new members as well as existing member profiles for the Newsletter.  This will help showcase the talents of our members.

Webmaster  Tom brought in a sample shirt from EmbroidMe with a unique method of printing. Everyone liked the sample and Tom will have more info shortly.

Club Sponsor:  Tatiana Dyer thanked all the members who participated in the Corvette Corral at the June opening.  They are planning another soft opening in the fall or winter.  We committed to support it.   She approved the new Dyer Plaque and it will be ordered shortly.

New Business: Tom will pursue Culinary Capers to get the best possible deal for our meetings.  We will probably have to move to Cannons in season, as the seating at Culinary Capers is limited to 60 max. .

Webmaster:  Betty Skelton Erde (a lifetime member of IRCC) is being inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame  August 12, 2008.

Club Sponsor Dyer can now sent and receive Shout Outs, reminders and messages via the club’s Yahoo eGroup.  Bill Donnelly Service Manager wants to make sure all members are satisfied with their service experience.  Dyer is opening the Vero Auto Mall.

Dan reported 17 members attended the Comedy night at riverside and plans to repeat it this month with an Early Birds Dinner at Lemon Tree.

Announcements: Crystal Hanford delivered plans for an October trip to the Cape for the Club.  Frank wants any activity idea’s directed to the activities committee.  Dan will then bring the ideas to the General Membership at the monthly meeting. Dave Lundel, Mechanics invited to attend meeting found to be helpful for all.

Dick Cantner Treasurer read a thank you note from Carl and Nancy thanking the Club for it’s donation to them in their time of need. Carl has had his Bone Marrow transplant in Tampa and is on the road back.

Report of Standing Committees: Activities Beth thanked Tom and Hollyann for their Mystery Dinner Cruise to Harbor Town.  It was a great evening. Frank and Connie are hosting the Oct Mystery Dinner Cruise.

Old Business: Tom Quina, would like to present a motion to wave the By Laws Article VIII Elections, sub section “C”, since all elected officers are unopposed and accept the ballot presented by the Nominations Committee as follows:

Tony Chilla, VP
Dick Cantner, Treasurer
Hollyann Quina, Secretary

This motion to be presented to the General Membership for approval by a simple hand vote, rather than a written ballot.
Motion was presented by Tom Quina, second by Tom LaRocca, all members’ present signified approval and the ballot is elected for 2009.

New Business: Dan Bryant remaindered everyone of the Habitat for Humanity Hoe Down on 11/15/08. $75.00 per person at Riverside Park.

Announcements: Carl Michaud is back home from Moffitt and will be entering Hospice Care. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
